Piggesnye

Pigges·nye (pɪgzˌniː):
origin: seen in Geoffrey Chaucer's* work (1350-1400); pigges= pig, eyge= eye.

noun
1. Obsolete term of endearment for one's sweetheart, literally "a darling pig's eye"; sweetheart; associated with low women. See also: cuckoo flower (Irish).

**Despite this, we may have Chaucer to thank (or blame) for the inspiration of sending loved ones notes...particularly on Valentine's day!
