Example:
Bob had been rather impressed with himself. He had been grandly perorating on the nature of humanity; sure his initial theory diverged in to a criticism of the US tax code, but it reasserted itself nicely with a discourse on section seven, which he felt was an apt metaphor for the human condition.
Although he was starting to wonder; his date had been in the bathroom for over 20 minutes. Perhaps he should have stuck with his tried and true recitation of the digits of pi.

I have a friend, not named Bob, who can recite pi to 1000 digits (it is quite frightning). When he meets a woman for a date the first thing he does is recite the first 1000 digits of pi.

Unsuprisingly, he is still single.

Although I suppose if he ever finds a women who swoons at this, he will be in love forever.

This almost sounds like one of those curses that looks like a compliment.

I actually like the variety of styles and words, I just wish that they would post more consistently! Of course, I work in computers, so I am on one all day, and Friday is an easy day to remember.
