Example:
Bob had been rather impressed with himself. He had been grandly perorating on the nature of humanity; sure his initial theory diverged in to a criticism of the US tax code, but it reasserted itself nicely with a discourse on section seven, which he felt was an apt metaphor for the human condition.
Although he was starting to wonder; his date had been in the bathroom for over 20 minutes. Perhaps he should have stuck with his tried and true recitation of the digits of pi.

poor bob. he should seek out more verbose mates or find a discussion group to vent these intellectual seizures so he can avoid subjecting potential relationships to rip-van-winkle-itis.

I love the words you choose, and the quite hilarious examples you use. Thanks! I'll be sure to use this word to describe, but hopefully not be described with it!
