Mar. 28, 2008 - Perorate
per.o.rate - Intransitive Verb
1. End Speech: To finish a speech by summarizing its main points.
2. Give speech: To speak at length, especially in a formal or pompous way.
[Early 17th century. < Latin perorat-, past particple of perorare "speak all the way through" < orare "speak"]
perorate. Encarta.com. Encarta World English Dictionary.
Bloomsbury Publishing Plc, 2008. http://encarta.msn.com/dictionary_1861725153/perorate.html (accessed: March 28, 2008).
Example:
Bob had been rather impressed with himself. He had been grandly perorating on the nature of humanity; sure his initial theory diverged in to a criticism of the US tax code, but it reasserted itself nicely with a discourse on section seven, which he felt was an apt metaphor for the human condition.
Although he was starting to wonder; his date had been in the bathroom for over 20 minutes. Perhaps he should have stuck with his tried and true recitation of the digits of pi.

Bob
Unsuprisingly, he is still single.
Although I suppose if he ever finds a women who swoons at this, he will be in love forever.

A poem for me?
I love the words you choose
And the quite hilarious examples you use
But then you go all Rod McKuen on me:
I'll be sure to use this word
to describe,
but hopefully not
be described
by it.
Good work, but you should really try to maintain a consistent style throughout

The cake is a lie
This almost sounds like one of those curses that looks like a compliment.
I actually like the variety of styles and words, I just wish that they would post more consistently! Of course, I work in computers, so I am on one all day, and Friday is an easy day to remember.
Re: The cake is a lie
