Wednesday Word: Spuddle

Spuddle - noun.

Credit for today's word goes to my husband, who declared he felt like he was spuddling at work yesterday.

Huh? What?

It turns out spuddle has a few meanings:

  1. To fuss over trivial matters and make them seem important

  2. To make a feeble movement

  3. To put in a lot of effort and achieve little in return. For example, spending all morning raking leaves just to have the wind blow them back all over the lawn

Love it. Well, I don't love days spent spuddling, but I love having a good word to describe it.
