Thursday Word: Nosherai/Nosh

This is a Yiddish slang term. "Nosherai" is the word for snack (it usually pertains to junk food). And "nosh" is a verb to describe snacking.

NOTE: I might not be able to make a Thursday submission next week (I'm going out of town and I likely wont have handy internet access). So apologies in advance for that.

Thursday word: "Glitch"

Hi there! My name is [livejournal.com profile] brendala , and I'll be filling in for [livejournal.com profile] prettygoodword on Thursdays while he's on paternity leave. I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Since I'm not the world's greatest writer, I thought it might be fun to shake things up and do my submissions in comic form. And, for my first submission, I give you an illustrated lesson on the origins of the word "glitch". Enjoy!

Announcement

Our usual purveyor of all things vocabulary, [livejournal.com profile] prettygoodword has some exciting things going on in their personal life and will be taking a break.

In the meanwhile, I'll be overseeing the community and introducing [livejournal.com profile] brendala as the Thursday wordsmith substitute; she is an artist (DeviantArt.com account here) and has chosen to illustrate word choices as an added feature!

Please wish them both the best and let me know if you have any concerns.
