Tuesday Word: sciophobia

Sciophobia: the fear of shadows. A bit difficult to comprehend, given SUMMER. Granted the shadows are full of awful biting insects, but at least hanging out in them for a bit restores your will to move rather than just slump over and lazily bat at the air and suppress a gag when you realize a gnat you missed is now stuck to your forehead, drowning in your sweat. On the other hand, that staircase shot in Nosferatu is enough to give even the most miserably hot person chills. And with that mildly embarrassing pun, it is time for me to dissolve into a puddle.
