Sarcastic fringehead - noun.
Today's word is a giggler! Meet Neoclinus blanchardi, or the sarcastic fringehead.
This unusual fish is named for its aggressive, territorial nature and sharp, needle-like teeth. Maybe the species tends to be a jerk, but in this case, the sarcastic part is derived from the the Greek word sarkasmós, which means to bite or tear. As you might guess, it has soft, fringe-like appendages on top of the head. It's also a type of blenny and loves to hide in tubes and crevices.
