[ep-i-seen]

Definition:
1.Exhibiting traits from both genders.
2. Effeminate.

Etymology:
From the Latin epicoenus meaning “of both genders” from the Greek epikoinos meaning “common to many.”

Usage:
“Gavin recounted to his boyfriend the insult he had received from an obvious homophobe earlier that night. Epicene he had been called, you’re at least 90% woman, the man had said.

Well, Gavin replied, does the remaining 10% include my butt? Because I saw you checking that out earlier.”
