An abaculus (əˈbækjʊləs) is a tile used in a mosaic. It is the diminutive form of abacus, from the Latin...abacus, meaning a board or slab. I like this one for suggesting an optimistic alternative to the lyrics "All in all, you're just another brick in the wall" from part II of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall." Quote that in your pitch to a potential convert, add "But you know, that's kind of depressing. I like to think of our members as abaculi in a mosaic!" and get ready to make up another cot in your doomsday cult's desert compound.
