Counterclockwise; in the contrary direction.

From low German weddersins, often heard in parts of Wales and Scotland as part of a more obscure dialect. Also spelled and pronounced withershins.


Usage:
Having spent some of his time in omphaloskepsis upon his ultracredpidating on the matter of his mumpsimus on the subject, Jason decided it as high time to save face by heading widdershins on his opinion, thereby joining the 'in-crowd' on popular opinion.
