I am the orneriest person you could ever meet when I wake up in the morning.

And for missing last week:

acerbic [uh-SUR-bik]

Again, my mood in the morning is more acerbic than a truckload of overripe limes.

My apologies for the similarities in words and lack of imagination in sentences.

Ornery. (Sorry, didn't notice "acerbic.") Typical usage for her:

"AAA! That little kitten is purty, but she's as ornery as a snake!"

I loved your double useage of acerbic in that sentence. :D

I think I've been pronouncing ornery incorrectly all my life. I say more like OR-ner-ee than AWR-nuh-ree.
Oh well.

I have been confused about that one for awhile too because I have always said "OR-ner-ee" and my husband says "AWR-nuh-ree." Looks like he was right, but I just have trouble thinking of it as "AWR-nuh-ree" given the way it's spelled!
