[identity profile] rainbow-yarn.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] 1word1day
I have a question for any British or Australian members here: Is the word 'pother' common to you? I've only seen it in a book written by my favorite author who happened to be British, but it has that sort of ring to it that makes me think it's rather common. Let me know?

ebullient [ih-BUHL-yuhnt, ih-BOOL-]

adjective
1. overflowing with fervor, enthusiasm, or excitement; high-spirited
2. bubbling up like a boiling liquid.

Little Siri was so enormously ebullient at the idea of being picked to be the magician's assistant that she well-nigh hyperventilated and had to be sent to the nurse's office, forcing the rather dashed magician to choose another less excitable child from the crowd.

If all goes well, this should be my last Tuesday post (unless a sub is required)! I've had a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to [livejournal.com profile] imifumei's posts in future! Thank you, everybody!

You've been added as a poster to see how you go. You've probably seen enough posts to see what we need in an average post. For tagging, please use the letter, the part of speech, it's etymological source, and your nickname, e.g., b, noun, greek, nerdfury.
