Well met, neighbours!

It's Wednesday again, which means another installment of Shakespearean Imagination!

As I mentioned in my last post, I have been on holiday for the last couple of posts. In my travels, I saw several people with suitcases that were the size of small refrigerators, with names and addresses written on them that could be read at thirty paces. I had to chuckle, and then went looking for other amusing travel anecdotes… and look what I found!

Kulula Airlines, based in South Africa, has what looks like a really fun sense of humor. Case in point: two of their planes:

So in honour of keeping a sense of humour whilst travelling, today’s word is:

label : la•bel /ˈlābəl/ (noun)(verb) :

noun
- A small piece of paper, fabric, plastic, or similar material attached to an object and giving information about it.

verb
-Attach a label to (something).

Synonym as a noun: tag - ticket - tally - etiquette - sticker - docket - tab
Synonym as a verb: tag - mark

First seen in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night (written 1599-1600). The full text of the play may be found here.

LOL! That airplane line is epic, if all of their planes look like those. What a fun way to fly!

I really enjoy your posts. It's really interesting, all of the words Shakespeare invented.

How interesting that this word was first seen in Shakespeare's work.

And the pictures are hilarious! Thanks for sharing. My mom and my daughter were also much amused ;)
