1. Referring to a spot on Earth and/or another location that is diametrically opposite it. Antipodes can also imply a place very far away.

3. A term people in the northern hemisphere use to refer to the people of New Zealand & Australia combined (may also include North Africa).

I was really excited to learn this word because "Ana Ng," one of my favourite songs by my favourite band, They Might Be Giants, is about two people living on exact opposite sides of the world! I had no idea there was a word for it! (I'm actually repeating the song right now so I'm a little spooked by seeing this definition right now!) Thanks for sharing this--I'm gonna tell all my TMBG fandom friends!
