Eustress - noun. Pronounced u-stress, this is the kind of stress that's supposed to be beneficial, whether it is mental or physical. Eustress is the opposite of distress. Whereas distress is negative stress, eustress is positive stress. It might be the little boost you need to get a project done or sprint across a finish line. Wikipedia has a surprisingly detailed entry about it.

There's positive stress? Sigh... and I've been missing out on it all these years...

Too easily if you ask me. Stress, by any other name, is still stress.

This is actually really interesting! I think this is something I in large part run on, because I have a perpetual habit of procrastinating until the absolute last minute on important things (college papers, NaNoWriMo novels, zines when I'm tabling at a festival) for no real reason (usually), other than I seem to get a major productivity boost from the feeling of freaking out about how I HAVE TO GET THIS ALL DONE NOW NOW NOW, but I had no idea there was a term for it.
