I like the word, but the example sentence seemed a little strange to me. I guess technically there is nothing wrong with using "callow" in this sentence. However, stylistically and in standard usage, it's not an adjective that I imagine would be used for an inanimate object. That is, unless it was a piece of a creative writing in which the inanimate object is given its own perspective. I'm worried it will confuse people for whom English is a second language.
