Did you know that you can use LJ as an RSS reader?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and if there's a feed, you can subscribe to it and read it on your f-list. RSS is an older technology that is surprisingly still useful today!

For example, you can subscribe to these other Word of the Day communities:

Oxford English Dictionary - https://oed-wotd.livejournal.com/
Merriam-Webster WOTD - https://webster-wotd.livejournal.com/

You can find a bunch more at https://www.livejournal.com/syn/ and if you have a paid account, I believe you can still create your own feeds.
