I had asked the comm about this 2 weeks ago, in this post

We've heard from most of our posters and a handful of other comm members, and opinions were somewhat divided.

I would like to start growing our DW community, so let's try this:

For those of us who have DW accounts, let's post to DW and manually cross-post here if possible.

Those who don't want to move to DW, please continue posting and/or commenting here.

I'll also try to post a summary of the week to both DW and LJ comms once a week.

Let me know what you think, and if you've any other suggestions, please let me know.

Those who want to post on DW, please request membership and let me know so I can give you posting access!

Thanks,

Cat

Greetings, everyone,

In view of LJ's most recent user agreement, etc.--

I just wanted to ask everyone if you would want to move the comm to Dreamwidth?

I had last imported the comm there a month ago; importing is now disabled (thanks to the above-mentioned user agreement), but we have all the entries and comments up until then.

I know we have over 3,000 members and more than 4,000 total watchers, but of course the number of people actively watching/commenting is much lower.

So the question is both to the posters (and many thanks, once again, for keeping the comm going, esp. when I was AWOL last year)--[livejournal.com profile] calzephyr77, [livejournal.com profile] sallymn, and [livejournal.com profile] simplyn2deep and also [livejournal.com profile] spikesgirl58, who just rejoined us as a poster--and to members/watchers.

Let me know in comments, please. I'll go along with the majority decision :)

Many thanks,

Cat

Wanted to wish all the members of this comm all the best in the coming year 2020!

Thank you for all your posts and comments.

It has been my pleasure to be the moderator for this comm, and my New Year's resolution is to continue, as well as to do my best to be more active in the comm ;)

Hello everyone,

I am [livejournal.com profile] med_cat, your new comm maintainter. As you may've seen the other week in his post, [livejournal.com profile] prettygoodword is stepping down.

Now, we appear to have lost the majority of our regular posters, so:

Question 1. I am asking if anybody would like to step in? Most days of the week are currently available.

Also, I have backed up the comm to Dreamwidth (https://1word1day.dreamwidth.org/), and so,

Question 2. I wanted to ask the comm members here what they would prefer:

a. Continue posting here and do regular backups to Dreamwidth (2-4 times a month; I would be happy to do the backups).

or

b. Migrate to Dreamwidth and just post weekly summaries here (which, again, I can do).

Please let me know in comments.

Question 3. Apparently, some years ago, there was a FB group for this comm. The link no longer appears active. Would anybody be interested in reviving the FB group, or having a FB page for the comm?

Thank you, please let me know in the comments and/or via PM!

Have a great week ahead, everyone!

Reminder: This community has one rule, go to the profile and make yourself familiar with it. The people who contribute these words & definitions are not paid, are all intelligent, and often spend a lot of time to craft their entries; we wouldn't have an active community without them and I'm grateful for our wordsmiths.

If all you offer as a member is curtly telling others that they've made an error, worse if you are actually mistaken regarding such critique, then your comments are not welcome here.
